Toba Tek Singh.(www.apnapirmahal.com)25-01-2012:District election commisioner Abid Hussain has told on Wednesday that preparation of CNICs and registration of votes of eunuchs has been started here in his office under one window.He told that 16 eunuchs reached his office out of them only one had allready his CNIC whose vote has been registered while record of 15 others was given to Nadra team which was present in his office and as soon as their CNICs are prepared they will also be registered as voters.District social welfare officer Choudry Muhammad Irfan told that after hectic efforts he and his staff had succeeded to find whereabout of 38 eunuchs in the district but when they were requested to come to election office to get register as voters or to get CNIC only 16 came.He said process will continue to register the eunuchs as voters.

Toba Tek Singh.(www.apnapirmahal.com)25-01-2012:Punjab teachers union emergent meeting with district president Tahir Afzal Warraich expressed concern on Wednesday over withdrawing teachers' one casual leave in a month.In a resolution it said that earlier teachers of government schools were allowed to have two casual leaves in a month but now education EDO has written to headmasters in which they had been directed to not to grant more than one leave of a teacher in a month.It added that now for second casual leave in a month teachers have been made bound to get prior approval from deputy DEO or DEO which was unjustified.Meeting demanded restoration of two casual leaves in a month and warned that if their demand was not accepted teachers will be forced to boycott classes from Feb 1 all over the district

This was said by Technical Employees Association general secretary Mian Muhammad Adnan while addressing a press conference at the press club here on Tuesday. He said that a TEA delegation led by its president Azhar Naseem Maan met Fakhar Cheema in Lahore and apprised him about the unrest among employees over their non-regularisation for the last seven years. He said that technical employees were being paid less wages as compared to employees of other categories.

The medical store owners took out a rally at Sadr Bazaar Chowk. District Chemists and Druggists Association (CADA) president Mian Imran Manzoor and general-secretary Mahboob Akbar addressed the rally and said three medical stores in Rail Bazaar were sealed for allegedly keeping unregistered medicines while the team head, Dr Nawazish Ali, and Assistant Commissioner Mushtaq Hussain gave no attention to the medical store owners’ point of view. They said under Drug Act, branulas, syringes, drip sets and blood bags supplied by unregistered companies were prohibited, but the companies continued to supply the items to them with fake registration numbers. They said medicines companies were responsible for the supply, but the action was taken against medical store owners. They said they had stopped receiving new supply of such unregistered items after the approval of the amended Drug Act. They alleged Assistant Commissioner Mushtaq Hussain had demanded donations from the CADA office-bearers for last year flood-relief and the CADA had given him Rs 40,000, but the assistant commissioner had demanded Rs 100,000 donation, which the CADA did not give him over which he took revenge and sealed three medical stores. They announced to continue their protest till the de-sealing of three medical stores. They said the sealed medical stores were not packing any herbal or other medicines. Three medical stores including Mashoor Dawakhana, Apna Dawakhana and Hayat Dawakhana were sealed on Monday.
